Deep Dive
Tech provider is Meta's term for a company that builds software other businesses use to message customers on WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger. Verified means two things have been checked: the company's legal identity, through Meta Business Verification, and the app's use of each permission it requests, through App Review. The status sits underneath the chatbot platform. It is what allows the platform to connect a client's WhatsApp number or Instagram account through Meta's own sign-in flow rather than through a workaround.
How it works. The provider registers a Meta app, completes business verification with legal documents, and submits the app for review with a description and recording of how each permission is used, for example sending WhatsApp messages or reading and replying to Instagram DMs on a client's behalf. Once approved, the app can offer Embedded Signup: the client logs into Meta inside the platform, selects the business portfolio, phone number or Instagram account, and grants the listed permissions. The client's assets stay in the client's own Meta Business Manager; the provider holds a token scoped to what was granted, which the client can revoke. The provider must keep the app within Meta's platform terms and messaging policies to retain the status.
Why it matters for anyone choosing a messaging platform. Unofficial WhatsApp automation, built on modified clients or shared logins, is against WhatsApp's terms, and the numbers involved get banned along with their customer history. A verified tech provider connects through the sanctioned path, which protects the number and keeps the business eligible for official features such as approved templates, the official business account badge and the messaging limit tiers. It is a baseline, not a quality guarantee: the agent's answers, uptime and support are separate questions.
Example. A dental group with three clinics wants to move appointment reminders to WhatsApp. During onboarding it is asked to log into Facebook, pick the group's business portfolio and the clinic phone number, and approve a permission list naming the provider's app. The number is registered to the group's own WhatsApp Business Account, Meta's business verification completes within about two days, templates are submitted under the group's name, and the practice manager can see the connected app in Business Manager. If the group later changes platforms, it removes the app and keeps the number and its quality history.
Meta Verified Tech Provider vs Business Solution Provider. A business solution provider (BSP) is a company Meta has authorized to provide WhatsApp Business API access and, in most cases, to bill the client for Meta's messaging charges. A verified tech provider builds software on the API and may connect clients directly or through a BSP. What the client should check is which company bills for Meta messaging and which holds the app permissions.
What to check before connecting. The permission screen names the app requesting access, and it should match the vendor. The number should be registered to your own WhatsApp Business Account, not the vendor's. You should be able to see and remove the app in Meta Business Manager. Ask where Meta's per-message charges are billed.
Botcadence holds Meta Verified Tech Provider status, which is why the WhatsApp Business Suite connects numbers through Meta's own sign-in flow and why WhatsApp goes live after Meta verification, usually in 24-48 hours; the Instagram chatbot channel connects the same way.

Meta Verified Tech Provider FAQs
No. Verification confirms identity and app review for the permissions the app uses. Meta's partner programs are separate, carry their own criteria, and imply a commercial relationship with Meta.
Your business does. The number is registered to your WhatsApp Business Account in your own Meta Business Manager; the provider holds a revocable permission grant, and you can remove the app and keep the number.
No. Opt-in, the 24-hour customer service window, template approval, quality rating and messaging limits apply to your number whichever provider connects it. Verification covers the software, not your conduct.
The permission screen during connection names the app requesting access, and Meta publishes partner directories. A vendor that asks for your WhatsApp password or a QR scan from a personal phone is not using the official path.
